I’ve honestly never in my life encountered anyone who gets butt hurt about being wished a “Merry Christmas” democrat, republican, Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, Hindu.  I say merry Christmas or happy holidays to lots of people all the time this time of year. I don’t even think about It.  Sometimes it comes out one way or the other.  The notion that a large group of people have a problem with being well wished seems ridiculous to me.  I’m sure there are unusual examples but that’s true of anything.  

I mean my experiences are not all encompassing but I feel like it’s probably the norm.  Southern California is quite diverse and quite liberal.  If there was any place that would fit the bill for supposedly frowning on saying “merry christmas” it would be here as much as any other left leaning place.
