I think the governor from Colorado would be a good candidate.  He's pretty  young, he's not too liberal and he has charisma.

The Democrats are hamstrung a bit by there being so many Republican governors. That reduces the number of good Senate options as they would be replaced by the Republican governor.

The other thing that I think is hilarious is that people thought having a businessman in charge would mean things would change fiscally...

Well, he has referred to himself on more than one occasion as the "King of Debt" and filed for bankruptcy many times and took advantage of the tax code in order to not lose everything.  Now he is in charge of passing updates to the tax code.  You would have to be pretty fucking stupid to think he would look back and take his lessons from abusing the system and think that he would do anything other than make it even easier for him to do.

Then again, his voters were easily manipulated to believe fake news reports out of Russia so it isn't surprising.
