My father was Air Force before he moved into Aerospace, becoming one of the top engineers in guidance control on the Apollo, anti missile tech, then later in commecial airlines. 

One of our best friends was a Vietnam Vet in the Rangers, spent time as a POW and went on to Boeing as a physicist working on high level projects you probably won't hear about until the military retires them. 

One of the owners of a post facility in Burbank flew sorties off of an aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War. He had both an electrical engineering and business degrees. 

Be less of an elitist dick when you really haven't done anything to think you are better than others.
