Cohen payments are illegal because they exceed the amount someone can contribute to a campaign. But that is not what makes it a felony. The felony here is the attempt at a cover up.  The use of the shell companies to hide the money as well the fact they didn't disclose the payments.

The Dems are pretty good at charging the other side with what they actually did. Trump paying a slut was election interference. The government knowingly using a false Russian document to justify campaign spying was totally legal

The Inspector General under Trump reported the FISA warrant on Carter Page was justified. This was backed by Trump appointed special council John Durham. 

FISA warrants aren't just granted based on hearsay.  A judge had to approve it based on actual evidence. But hey, don't let facts get in the way of your narrative.
