the economy can’t function if there is an uncontrolled disease savaging the country.  It really is a false dichotomy.  You can’t have a functioning economy absent reasonably safe conditions.  There is nothing worse that could happen then rushing to re open everything getting a bunch of people sick/killed and then having to lock down again.  Thus completely wasting the terrible price we’ve already paid.  This has to be done correctly.  Sorry, the “business leaders”(haha and ivanka and Jared) don’t know shit about when it’s going to be safe to open things up again.  The doctors and scientists that understand disease and it’s transmission do.  What’s correct is deferring to them.

when it’s time to get things going again, then the economic “experts” can decide what to do.

The fastest way you open the economy is by doing mass testing and they just aren't doing it. There's too much hysteria and paranoia throughout the US right now.

People need reassurance before they go back to normal life and you do that with mass testing or by developing a vaccine.

He’s gonna do what he’s always done.  Which is just make shit up and lie until he makes it.  Politicians lying is unremarkable.  The thing with Trump is that it’s absolutely unrelenting.  Everything is a straight up lie or half truth.  Literally everything.  That’s sort of new.  He’s gotten away with it so far.  Why would he stop ?  Wait till the commercials start hitting the air waves.

I didn't hear Trump's address, but the analysis was that he spent a lot of time engaging in revisionist history about his response to COVID - which initially was nothing, besides trivializing it and eventually calling it a Democratic hoax.

His earliest briefing about COVID-19 was on or about January 3.
