In hindsight I wouldn't have done it if I realized it was going to ruin summer television.  I spent plenty of time outside but I still liked watching TV and the case was on or being discussed on most channels.  At least our 7th grade teacher let us watch the verdict in class at which point you either cheered or booed and at that age your opinion on the subject came from your parents.

That's funny the polling never supported that in the general or especially in the iron belt states. And the polling was before Hillary's email nightmare. The polling consistently showed Bernie beating Trump by greater margins than Hillary. It kept his Quixotic nomination campaign going well past mathematical elimination.  The economic leaning left wouldn't have stayed home because they were indifferent between Trump and Clinton and Trump's attacks on Hillary for being a stooge of Goldman Sachs would have been pointless on Bernie. How would Trump's populist argument worked against Bernie? Is your argument that the average white factory worker that voted for Obama but chose Trump over Hillary would have also picked Trump over Bernie? That's a pretty big claim.  Against a normal candidate Bernie would have been vulnerable but all he had to do was beat Trump. Something even H. Clinton almost did. I'm sure you have something to back up your assertions, right?

Are you of the opinion that Trump would not have hammered Bernie with the commie label? Trump would have come up with several nasty things to call Bernie because he wasn't capable of debating any issues with him. You know like, Bernie is un-American simply by virtue of him being a Socialist etc or he might call him Chairman Sanders.  After all, many people are ignorant enough to equate Socialist with Communist and Trump would have buried him with Mao, Stalin, Castro, or any other Communist he could think of. lol Most importantly Bernie isn't a Democrat and that makes a difference to a lot of people and that simply would have given many Democrats not one but two reasons not to vote for him. So those Democrats probably wouldn't have voted for him making it that much easier for Trump. Trump would have trounced Bernie and proclaimed that he should be deported to Russia with the rest of the commies.

You could have just said you know, "no I don't have any backing data unlike you who did".  I understand. That is the difference between our two "equal" opinions.

We can in hindsight look at the polls it reveals an unpleasant truth. H. Clinton lost because of the white vote. Guess who did better with that demographic? But in the general anyone of color would still be repulsed by Trump, rightly so, and would have voted Democrat regardless but if the left only got a little more of the white vote...
