Again Nate.  When your bonds are one step above junk status.  It's not the tariffs that are causing it's downfall.  Every car maker in the US is facing the same tariffs.  And yet only Ford is laying off people.  This is a Ford problem, not a Trump problem.

Surreal moment of the year:

Kanye West is live right now in the Oval Office. He's sitting there opposite Trump at the desk and spoke extemporaneously for ten minutes (and rather eloquently) about a range of issues. Trump listened intently, then the first thing he says after Kanye is finished is:

"Kanye, you're in the Oval Office. How does it feel?"

Ford is just the first one to announce it.  Having $1bn in tariffs added to their bill is irreversible.

As mentioned in other articles, Ford already bought 98% of its steel domestically but the lack of competition in the market has led US companies to increase their prices.
