A New York woman in her 40s who arrived in Las Vegas on March 5 to attend the Women of Power Summit at the Mirage has it. She was hospitalized on March 8 and is in stable condition.

Getting close to where I live.

don't worry folks...Jared Kushner is on the case

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/03/11/trump-emergency-declaration-coronavirus-message-125902

There’s no deadline for a decision (on declaring a nation emergency), but one of the people familiar with the talks said the task force will not give Trump its final verdict until Jared Kushner, the president’s senior adviser and son-in-law, finishes his research and comes to a conclusion himself.

I am just praying this is not true

Don’t we have doctors and researchers that can decide and advise on this ?  JFC

the entire federal response is currently based on does it make Trump look bad...or making sure they don't contradict his asinine statements that this is going to be no worse than the seasonal flu.

They've started holding meetings in classified settings...meaning experts are unable to attend

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-secrecy-exclusive/exclusive-white-house-told-federal-health-agency-to-classify-coronavirus-deliberations-sources-idUSKBN20Y2LM

Why would is surprise anyone that Kushner is in charge of declaring a national emergency?

From Charles Pierce

Spend four decades building the case that the federal government is a hindrance to personal freedom and economic prosperity and, sooner or later, people will think anybody can run it and will elect themselves an entertaining moron to do so. Spend four decades building the case that the federal government can’t do anything right and, sooner or later, it will forget how.

Government, like a hammer, is a tool, as the late Molly Ivins used to say. Like any other tool, there is a right way and a wrong way to use it, and that depends on the competence of the person using it. You can use it to build a house or you can use it to break your thumb. Alas, now, in the middle of a global pandemic, we seem to be governed by people compelled to hit themselves over the head with it, time after time, until blissful unconsciousness reasserts itself and they don’t have to think about the rest of us for a while.

even those of us who don't pray might want to start thinking about it

Alex Jones is far right in ideology.    Take anything he says with a bit of a grain of salt.    Although if the death rate in China is indeed decreasing, doesn't that go against what is being said about getting much worse?

Is it just me, or are the two political parties the furthest apart that they've been in over 100 years?

China shut down the entire city of Wuhan and much of the province where it's located. Totally shut down, and people didn't dare leave quarantine. Over there they might shoot you if you do. This isn't China. Gonna be a lot harder to enforce general isolation here 100%.

I think I just got the coronavirus listening to Trump's speech. What the fuck does the unemployment level have to do with fighting the virus?

It doesn't matter if people die from the coronavirus as long as unemployment is low and the economy is soaring.

Jobs and taxes.
