For anyone who wants to geek out on the simple mathematics of infection and how this could play out, pretty interesting toward the end on how changes in the infection rate due to changes in behavior can have mind-boggling alterations in the total number of cases.  Guess we'll know in about 3 months!

That said, dear god.... those people survive ANYTHING. I cant tell you how many of these guys Ive seen for years, who have been on the streets at least a decade. Night after night, eating trash and getting high. Hit by cars beaten, stabbed etc.... and they are always right back within a few days.

He's absolutely right though that it's still so early, and it's likely not going to have a vaccine until at least the end of the year. The months between then could get pretty gnar.

Ya I’m with you on the parents with health problems. My dad has a pre-existing lung condition so if he picks this up the chances are very high that he would be in serious or perhaps fatal trouble. I think that people who are on medication should try to stock up now while they can if possible. With all our meds being manufactured in China there could very well be a shortage in the future.

Let's go complete conspiracy theorey for a moment. There is, in Wuhan, a biological research center that the Covid-19 virus may have been developed in and not purposely but by mistake it got loose due to an accident or sloppy technicians handling samples. For whatever reason it got out and the infection stream began it's course and in the very start it was containable.

But that did not serve a purpose that was unintentionaly thrust upon the Chinese government and that is a true test of a biological warfare agent and it's effectiveness in propogation. So they did everything they could to supress the dissemination of facts regarding the virus outbreak, steps to take to contain it and halt it's growth. They gag ordered the doctor that recognized the virus and it's volititlity for a determined amount of time it would take to start an exponentital growth that would cause it leave Wuhan and infect prettty much the world through trade and travel.

Could a governement be so cruel? China has billions of labs rats they call citizens. The Chinese communist government over the last 80 years has run them through mulitpile social engeineering tests to create a public that would and could not speak out. They are positioned as a world power but still do not control enough of their own continent for their liking, an example is building manmade islands to claim more of the shipping lanes as their waterways off their coastline. Yes, ends would justify the means when it comes to making decisions for the party over public safety. 

This is a lab test to see how the world can handle biological warfare. To see in real time how the spread manifests itself in casual contact through the open migration of people from city to city and country to country. How taxing is the virus to healthcare and then how much damage does it do to infrastructure at critical exposure to nations in their day to day life and affect on military might. 

Once the data is collected and the vulnerabilities accounted for, as a nation that has near complete dominence of it's population, innoculate them en masse for the next and more deadly wave. It can simply be called a flu shot, preventative medicine and accepted practivc across the world and no one would be the wiser that 2 billion healthy Chinese would now have control of world economy. Because the next strain would target healthy people in their prime and not the elderly or those with poor immune systems.

Chicago St. Patrick's Day parade canceled because of coronavirus concerns

The Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade — one of the largest St. Patrick's Day parades in the US — has been canceled, organizers announced on their website. 

The parade was slated for Saturday afternoon. Each year, Chicago's parade and river dyeing attracts hundreds of thousands of people to downtown.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker are expected to give updates at a novel coronavirus briefing later this morning. 

Illinois has reported 19 coronavirus cases as of yesterday.
