The problem is liberals are group thinkers. Group think mentality makes people very easily manipulated by the media. Thats Why the media makes such a killing off of panic porn headlines and tabloid style “reporting”, group thinkers eat that shit for breakfast.

Like Fox News viewers?

I agree only to a point.  Nobody is in a complete bubble.  Your risk still effects others

Well that’s a risk we should take because locking down an economy is 100% not the correct answer. It’s absolutely amazing to me how many people have willingly allowed their rights taken away from them because of a bug that has taken the lives of a small fraction of our population. Sure the loss of life is tragic but we can’t continue on this path much longer because the consequences will be catastrophic.

You underestimate while the other side overestimates.

I had a physics professor in college that was a member of the flat earth society. He look like Don knots and one of the reasons I quit. Got tired of paying good money to people not half as smart as me.

I've seen a couple of his films, some Andy Griffith and There's Company. Based on what I've read in your body of work here, it's entirely possible that you were unwittingly paying to be on the set of a Don Knotts movie.

Back up your statement.

We have very little idea how many people have had this or died from it.  I see no way we can estimate how bad this is so to write off as a bug, as you are doing or being willing to let the economy choke to death and not open up anything as others would just doesn’t make any logical sense.

there needs to be an end game.  A horizon we can point to, a goal to reach so we can open up.

I should have been more specific. I meant back up your statement with facts.

Here are some facts to back up my point of view:

OC population: Over 3 miilion people

OC people infected: Under 2,800

OC coronavirus deaths: 53

Do you believe those numbers are accurate?

Also it’s interesting to only use Orange counties numbers.  Orange County isn’t an island in the middle of the ocean.  It’s part of Southern California and people constantly move in and out of it from the neighboring counties.  Literally moment to moment.  I live in LA county.  I spend far more time in Orange County.  If i had the corona I’d be counted in the LA numbers.  Remind me again what LA’s numbers are.

Well then close your county borders and show yourselves as the communists you’re acting like. Everyone in LA can be issued papers in order to travel. We’ll be fine with that in OC. You do you and we’ll act as normal Americans.

If they're waiting for acceptable numbers in LA to open OC then the same logic could be applied to Ventura, San Bernardino, Riverside and San Diego Counties.  Conversely if any one of those has high numbers where do we draw the line on the map to say it's okay to open one of the counties farther away?  The Greater Los Angeles area has a population of almost 19M people and there's a lot of people who commute from one county to another.  There's no easy answers and once things start to open up people will be traveling more whether it's for work or even leisure as campgrounds, beaches and state parks start to open.  If one county or city does a soft opening because their numbers are low enough there's nothing to keep people from another city or county from coming over.  Sooner rather than later the decrease in tax revenue at the city level is going to drive some decisions because when random city in OC/Ventura/San Bernardino can't pay it's workers they're not going to worry about what's going on in Los Angeles.

I’m definitely no lib but couldn’t the low numbers mean, I don’t know, the social distancing and lockdown are working? I do think you have to draw the line eventually and open things up, but at this point I’m still trusting the government and their “data”.

I am from NC but not old enough for that. It was crushing when Andy came out for Obamacare.

It is working. But what is the goal we are working towards?

A vaccine is one to two years away. I don't think the American people have agreed to two years of shelter in place. Our leaders need to define their goals and the reasoning for their decisions. Doctors and scientists will recommend shutting down the economy until everyone has access to the vaccine if the goal is to minimize deaths from the virus.
