Players weekend uniforms

Not a fan, but I dont think I'm the target demo.

Last year's were lame, too.

It's weird that they are all essentially the same. It's weird the home pitchers have different caps. And... although I root against both teams, it's a shame that the Dodgers and Yankees matchup featured these uniforms.

I was being facetious about the target audience thing.  Granted, most people that say something online about such things are going to be negative, but is Andrelton Simmons the only person on earth that publicly said he liked em? And... I bet he wouldn't have said the same if he had to wear white

So, I know why they do special uniforms, and I know there's been a lot of ire for these...

...but I've yet to see any reasoning as to why this design was chosen...has anyone read or heard anything? It seems like MLB would have at least tried to put some effort in marketing a reason for the monochromatic choice.

It wouldn't have been too hard to launch a campaign along the lines of like "This weekend we let our players provide the color" or how players/the game transcends team/brand loyalty or even a subtle social slant such as pushing that all players are the same no matter their color I dunno...seemingly any effort to put a meaning behind the black/white uniforms would have at least provided an excuse for the aesthetic backfiring.

Instead it was just like "Hey look it's black and white this time and some crazy nicknames wow isn't this fun? It's fun, right? IT'S FUN"

I liked them and it made me pay attention.

lol@this thread though. Just a reminder why this archaic game is losing steam and viewership. The same purist types that argue about “unspoken rules” are not fond of the quick and minor change for a simple weekend series. At least MLB is trying to do something as they acknowledge fans are leaving in droves.

It was different. I appreciated the effort and trying something new.
