Seriously. This dude has been HUGE in Weaver's absence. You literally cannot expect a guy filling in for your ace to do any better. I honestly felt he was better suited for the bullpen but he keeps proving me wrong. If nothing else, it's nice to have a go-to guy that we can rely on if any of the main starters go down. I really hope Mike at least ponders keeping Jerome in the rotation for the rest of the year, because he has been great.

Yeah, same here.  I thought he was an ideal long reliever.  But he's made some great adjustments, and is able to get over his road block of the third time around the order.  And he's just nails right now.  We wanted him to be a #5 pitcher, and he's pitching like a #1.  He'll have some rocky starts, but if he can be a solid #3 pitcher, that would be huge for us.

agreed....he has been excellent for the halos this season. i hope if anyone gets thrown in the pen its blanton.

Jerome was hitting 92 when is PC was over 80. But not quite stretched out yet...

 

In the sixth inning according to MLB Gamecast he hit 95 once and 94 mph twice too. He carries velocity deep into the game.
