I was just thinking about this tonight and sadly it might be true that Canning gets optioned. I would rather see someone else sent down like Bard and Pena just be a regular long relief then need a opener just to keep Canning in the rotation.

nope.  I mentioned this a couple days ago.  

how about they go with a 6 man rotation and have Cahill and maybe Pena do some tweener appearances.   Or how about hey align those two and have then alternate who starts?

I don’t think Canning is going anywhere now, but I do think at some point he’ll either be skipped or sent down for 10 days just to manage his innings. So you guys should prepare yourselves for that.
