Bauers and Díaz going to Seattle and Encarnacion to Tampa makes more sense based on those teams timelines, though the money for Tampa is surprising.

Would love to see Tampa add Cruz, Encarnacion, and Morton. Love it, not rolling over for Boston and NYY.

Its been slow for the Angels so far, but this has been a sort of interesting, fun offseason. I’m liking the renewed interest in major player trades league-wide, though I am concerned with the way the free agency is becoming toxic.

If the deal is completed, there’ll be more to it than that. Corner infielder Yandy Diaz is going to the Rays, who’ll send first baseman Jake Bauers to the Indians, per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times (via Twitter). There’s a competitive balance pick involved, which will land in Seattle, per Joel Sherman of the New York Post (Twitter link).

Asking prices are too high and he isn’t budging on our best prospects. Not a bad call this early in the offseason.

Right, that’s not my issue.  The concern is that he misread the market and now half of the guys the Angels could have found useful are off the board.  I realize that they were in on Eavoldi and Corbin.  But they didn’t land them.

Anyway, hoping it works out.

Like who? Most of the SP trade market hasn't budged.

I always figured if we signed a FA SP, it would be Keuchel, Kikuchi, or the lower bargain tiers, and if we landed an upper/mid SP, it would come from the trade market. Those doors are still open.

Well, Morton and Lynn signed.  Obviously the other 2.  There’s still guys for sure but you don’t want to see them completely miss on guys because they were pursuing “unrealistic” trades.   My concern may be a bit misplaced.

I show up to this place every morning expecting to see something cool and I don’t get shit !!!!! Except that apparently the trade offers are unrealistic.  Let me have my pissiness.
