I agree with giving Arte and his injection of investment dollars in the club/ players plus the Los Angeles Angels name change marketing decision deserve credit for making the Halos a big market presence in MLB -- but Mike Scioscia was the right S. California based manager to make that happen........the Dodgers ownership at the time made one of their many mistakes in letting him get away -- the pre-Arte ownership was sharp enough to scoop him up.

So I agree with ScottT's comment -- Arte/ Mike S. were a good mix for a long time -- but now the party's over -- it lingered on a bit long IMO.

Just watched the interview and I all think about is F*ck you if you had a lasagna joke or some dumb bullshit. Seeing how much he cares about the franchise and those around him means a lot. Growing up a fan of the team, we never had consistency with the position or even the team. To win one and have many good teams is a great accomplishment.

We need a change, but F*ck we had a good ride most of the time with him.

Hope Eppler is next. This isn't on Mike. His GM's haven't done him any favors. Here's hoping next year will be a better year, they need a bunch of new players to right this sinking ship.

Why should Eppler be next?  He's dragged this team's minor league system from 30th to near top 10 in three seasons not to mention nabbing the most talented international free agent to emerge on the market in decades.  Not sure what you expected from him...the guy is cleaning up near a decades worth of front office messes.

Cool. He can be in charge of the minor league system then. Let someone else control the big league club.

Eppler hasn't done an ok job or a good job  He's done a FANTASTIC job.  This was an organization on the baseball abyss.

Absolutely not. If it was his decision, he wouldn't have side stepped those questions and would have said "this was my decision." The team obviously told him they wanted to go in a different direction.

Angels are a classy organization. They aren't going to say whatever it is that happened. But him crying at the press conference doesn't scream to me he wanted to leave.
