OC Register: Mike Trout expected to return to Angels tonight

Mike Trout, who last played Aug. 1, is expected to return to the Angels active roster Friday night, the start of a three-game series against the Houston Astros at Angel Stadium.

Trout was out with a jammed right wrist and then was dealing with the death of brother-in-law Aaron Cox.

Trout posted an emotional message about Cox on his Instagram account Thursday.

“Aaron, words can’t describe the emotions that I’ve been feeling the past week and a half,” the message began. “You were more than just my brother-in-law… you were my best friend. You made such an impact on my life since the day I first met you.”

I'm sure he will get a big ovation tonight when he takes the field, and when he comes to bat. I'm very anxious to see how Mike reacts. Will he acknowledge the crowd and tip his hat, or will he bow his head and shed a tear or two? Whatever happens, I know it will be a very emotional moment for him.

Since it's player's weekend I wonder if the name he'll choose will be a tribute to Aaron.
