Current draft position for 2019? 12th

When you talk about acquiring talent in baseball think about how much Mark Appel and Brady Aiken are helping the Astros compared to the 7th rounder who won a Cy Young and the MVP who was signed as a 5’6” 16 year old in Venezuela. Nice to have overall no. 1 Correa and no. 2 Bregman but that puts them at 50% in top of the draft choices

Bregman was as a result of not signing Aiken

lots of crap shoot here is right.  certainly there's a difference between top 10 and 25 for the most part, but the variance is smaller than I would have thought.

I dont understand. Are the per major leaguer figures on the far right a WAR figure? If so, how can those averages be so high on a per player basis?

It's a mean figure not a median. The number 1 overall pick for example has A-Rod and Griffey who account for over 200 WAR. That's 20% of the total WAR put up by #1 picks.
