by not signing Blanton and trusting that Jerome Williams could hold down the 5th spot. We've seen Jerome have some really good outings since he's been a Halo. Blanton had been shelled his whole career. Not sure why Jerome wasn't considered an option considering Jerome has a lower career ERA than Fat Joe

Jerome was excellent depth. Considering we have 0 SP depth keeping Jerome in the 6th role was essential.

It's fantastic what Jerome is doing this year. I hope he gets paid when he reaches FA this winter for the first time.

Agreed. I also believe Jerome is better at adapting to switching roles between long relief or making spot starts. 

 

Can you imagine Joe Blanton being brought into a game with inherited runners already on base? Double steals, fielding errors, hit after hit after hit. Excellent FIP.
