I am not going to try to explain it to you because it's a waste of time.  I just will go on and say outside of 2012 Scioscia team usually over achieve.  They either didn't have the talent or had injuries.   Despite that and consistent poor starts they usually battled and had winning seasons.

That's what I mean by keep fighting and staying competitive.  We are not getting hot as this season progresses.  In fact we seem to be quitting (although with this bullpen I can understand why)  that's what I mean by "unlike a Scioscia team.  By your own assessment despite our awful starts we get hot, make it competitive, and barely miss the playoffs.  I am fearful we are going into an early season collapse this year.

And were (somewhat) sellers at the trade deadline (Hernandez to DBacks).....only to jump back in, after we went on a run in August.....at the waiver deadline (August 31st), we picked up Upton and Phillips..... Youneverknow....

Like Doc said, the team looks flat and they're not playing with any passion. Even when they came back last night they looked like they knew the BP wouldn't hold score and they'd lose anyhow. 

Part of this IS on Sosh, the other the players who seemed to have raised the white flags.

It's time to cut Kinsler & Valbuena for starters.

No he won’t be back.  Next year we will have a new manager, we will have no Valbuena, no Kinsler and if things hold true to form no health and no bullpen.

I think that is silly.  This is an individual team sport.  So when you are facing the pitcher and you are Mike Trout, Albert, Simmons or Upton do you think they are up there feeling sorry for themselves?  Of course not.  This is an ugly slump, magnified by a horrible pen and injury.

Generally, I'd agree but facing this Boston team in Fenway is not easy and it shouldn't be expected to shut down their offense totally. We left too many people on base yesterday and Heaney really blew it.
