Yes, he should be, regrettably.  I mean it's clear he's a clubhouse favorite, and he can still hit, it just isn't consistent enough.  But if we'r going to DFA Valbuena, we can't stop there. 

DFA Valbuena, call up Thaiss.

DFA Marte, Fletcher is already up.

DFA Fontana, call up Ward. 

DFA Drake, bring up Jewell. 

DFA Bedrosian, bring up Rhoades. 

Basically, our lineup should be: 2B Kinsler, CF Trout, LF Upton, DH Fernandez, 1B Thaiss, 3B Ward, RF Blash, C Maldonado, SS Fletcher.  5/9 of those players started this year in AAA, but that just shows how bad Valbuena, Marte, Pujols, Cozart, Young and Calhoun have been and just how good our prospects have performed.

when they get guys back, Valbuena gets DFA'd and we might be able to move him for a back of the pen (depth) guy who mop up some games when rosters expand.

They should do that to Pujols so he gets suspended & the Angels don't have to pay him for those games he's suspended for, then it would be easier to talk Arte into buying Pujols out so Ohtani can full time DH next season.

Its more than just DFA Valbuena that needs to be done:

1. Change our philosophy of hitting, just can't go up there trying to pull the ball everytime. Besides trout and Simmons, nobody else goes up the middle or right.

2. I'm done with Pujol's hitting in the top 4, unless he starts working counts, TAKING WALKS and using RF, move him down to the 6th or 7th spot. I've given him enough chances, but he hasn't done jack since signing with us.

4. DFA Valbuena and give the job to JMF

5. Get Blash amd Young out of here!!

6. Maldo needs to work on his pitch calling a bit more.

On the play he was thrown out yesterday I didn't see eonugh hustle from him. I'm tired of that bat flip, those 2 seconds that he spends doing that and contemplating the baseball are what make the difference in bang bang plays. Besides, the guy doesn't know how to hit to LF or even up the middle.

Start Fletcher on third, and JMF on first! Let's get a win today

I understand being patient with Calhoun, because he's a homegrown player whose problems seem to be completely mental.

I don't understand Scioscia's fascination with Valbuena, who has never been more than a marginal player and only joined the team last year.
