Not saying we should get him -- but, Bosox showing they don't want to be a part of his further decline.   Kinda crazy they have no released both of their big FA signings from a few years ago...  Panda and now Hanley.

Asked this in the other thread, but would you trade Valbuena for Hanley if Boston evened up the money?

No...would probably rather just start over in the offseason or at the trade deadline if a 3bman we like is available....

He'd be the fourth-best hitter on our team right now, behind Simmons, Ohtani, and Trout.

His wOBA would rank 11th -- behind Cozart and ahead of Maldonado.   His wRC+ would be 12th.... behind AP, and ahead of Valbuena.

So as Doc said..   "No"

I don't want to see Valbuena in a Red Sox uni hit 5 HR in a 3-game series against the Angels.

thought Hanley hit ok during the early part of the season.

BoSox will trade him for middle level prospect and shed some salary.

Some AL team will take him.  Don't think he would fit with us -- we have too many one dimensional DH/ can barely play corner infield guys now.

No.  Rameriz has an at bat criteria that potentially kicks in another expensive year.  Valbuena finishes after this year.
