I don't find that to be accurate. Resigning upton, bringing in Cozart and landing Ohtani along with Trout put us on everyones radar and the hype train was real.

Everyone knows that projection was trash. You don't add the pieces we did and only expect a 1-2 game improvement. The talent is there, while some are not playing to the best of their abilities some players are playing much better than expected. At the end of the day we should have a much better record than we do now. There needs to be more accountability throughout the org.

Yes all of us fans thought it was a trash projection but we were projected to be neck and neck with Seattle.  Our 1st and 2nd baseman and RF have been awful, with their replacements being Young and Valbuena, guys we all want cut.  The bullpen is awful.  The best guy out there is someone who came out of nowhere.  So you can say we should have a better record, it’s a miracle we’re above .500 with all that going on.  We have no True leadoff hitter.  Simmons would be our best option but they like him driving in runs.

On what planet should Seattle even be competing with us? They are riddled with injuries and just lost their best player to suspension...

Our leadoff hitter was doing fine while we were 13-3 remember? Was there a reason that had to be changed? You can keep making excuses all you want but over the years the faces have changed and its just constant finger pointing to everyone but the actual problem. Maybe one day you'll get it.

The preseason projections had the Angels behind the Yanks/Sox, and Twins as a WC hopeful.   The Twins and everyone in the AL Central have tanked.  The Yanks and the Sox have come out like gangbusters.   Seattle holds the second wild card spot..

Worst-case scenario, continuing the 13-19 recent pace, we'll win 72 games.

The 13-3 start seems like an anomaly, a pleasant dream.

Projections more often than not overvalue players like Cozart who had a good season last year. He’s not that good.

The preseason projections which Angel fans as well as Seattle fans probably think suck had both teams battling for second place.
