Is Kole's defense worth him being in the lineup?

I think for now, Kole's glove in RF is worthy of keeping him in the lineup.  I'd give him another week or so to show some progression at the plate before I throw out the phantom injury and send him back to Arizona to work on his swing in the back fields.

Upton will hopefully move to 1B/DH after Pujols retires following either the 2019 or 2020 season.    Will still need to set aside some 110 DH starts for Ohtani. 

Not sold yet that Upton can dig out bad throws at first, would need a lot of practice.  If it gets Adell and Marsh in the outfield assuming they reach their potential it might be something to think about.

He runs in left field as fast a Pujols running to first.  His arm would make Johnny Damon proud.  Does anyone remember what it was like to have Juan Rivera and Bobby Abreau surrounding Tori Hunter in the outfield?

Kole isn’t going to be the 4th outfielder next year if he ends the year hitting well. 

team had bigger holes that need to be addressed than his spot if he produces as expected

what they need to find is a 4th outfielder that rakes against lefties. It’d be nice if Hermosillo panned into that by next year

He keeps on hitting anything like he has in July, and he is a key to next season's success. 

He isn't going to have an 1.100 OPS for a season of course, but having it for July is huge.

He had an RBI double in the 3rd inning.  He isn't going to get multi hits in every game.

His current numbers are too bad to afford no matter how good his defense is, especially when he is a corner outfielder (if he is a SS or CF, I'd say yes)

But Kole has been fine as a hitter since he returned from DL with different batting stance. He's batting .270 since returning from DL and .293 with 7 HRs in July. 

He had his worst ML run in April and May but he is going back to his usual self pretty quickly so at this point, I would say Angels has to keep Kole in RF
