So Anaheim Sprong?

Not that great corsi or fenwick.

This is what eliteprospects say.

Quote

A prolific scoring winger who possesses an elite-level skillset: has dynamic skating ability, is a creative passer, and has incredible puckhandling ability. While he is offensively dominant, he is also defensively responsible. A very hard working player who strives to improve all aspects of his game. Absolutely electric. (Curtis Joe, EP 2014)

He's still young.  Probably a wash.  Bottom pairing Dman, which we have a lot of, for a speed skater.

He definitely hasn’t produced in the nhl yet.  I see a lot of people on the inter webs (Ducks people) all giddy about what a steal it is.  I mean.  Pump the breaks.  Its the type of talent we needed to be sure tho.  He’s what 21 or 22.  Still very young.

F*ck.  The Ducks are so screwed.   Seattle Expansion will be in 21-22, not 20-21.  That means any rookies that play this year, is exposed in 21-22.  Luckily looks like Comtois is safe and  back in the juniors.  But it also means anyone on the Ducks or Gulls roster this year with over 10 games is open for the expansion team.  That means guys like Mahura, Steel, Jones, Ludestrom, Larsson won't be exempt.

The only good news to that is that Perry is a FA after 20-21 season & Kesler can be bought out after that season with only 1 year remaining so it won't hurt much.

Also they definitely gotta bring back Getzlaf after the expansion draft takes place.

Projecting they will protect:

Gibson/Steel/Kase/Rakell/Terry/Rico/Ritchie(or Aberg if he's producing better)/Lundestrom/Lindholm/Fowler/Montour

A few things can happen before then, Murray does a shakeup trade & moves Fowler for Nylander if Mahura has risen to be a Top4 LD.

Then it comes down trading Larsson for them not to pick Manson or Montour.

BTW.  Who would have thought.  Aberg on the #1 line?  Sprong on the #3 line?  Kase bumped to the #4 line?

All the same type of player.  But I do think the #1 line does need a net front presence.

I think Kase wasn't bumped, as much as he's been arguably our best winger. So it's safe to put him on that line and give Sprong some skilled linemates out of the gate.

Kase seems to do well regardless.

Agreed on net presence.

Man if Eaves comes back fron skurvy we might actually have some legit scoring depth for once.

Sprong looked great. Clearly needs work on the defensive side but we can help him with that.

http://www.nhl.com/stats/player?reportType=season&seasonFrom=20182019&seasonTo=20182019&gameType=2&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=timeOnIcePerGame

Lindholm is 6th in NHL time on ice per game with 25:37 per game. Only 3 of the top 6 have higher points per game than him.

Fowler is 15th. Manson is 26th. Montour is 39th.

Lindholm is having a career high in both points per game & time on ice per game.

His +/- is taking a beating though

Let me guess, no call?

2 game suspension for Giordano. Calgary's coached fined 10K, Calgary's lomberg given 2 game suspension.

George Parros as the head of player safety thing has turned out to be a good thing.

Credit to Giordano for being very clever at the type of dirty hits he does, its alot easier to get away with what he does than head hits & he's now finally being suspended for it cause the League remembers his previous questionable Knee hits & now catching on its probably intentional.

I'm betting Boudreau remembers the knee hit that Giordano did to Bobby Ryan while he was still a Ducks coach, so he knew it was intentional the moment he saw a repeat of it. Thats 2 Ducks Kneeiordano took out.

That's actually good to hear that the NHL is finally policing it.  Head and knee hits have no business in the game.

Bob got extended.

Maybe Bob threatened the owners he'd take the scouting director Madden with him if he got sacked or the owners really like how things are & just want to continue to "grow california hockey" than trying to win.

That said Bob is overall a good GM despite his faults, they've been drafting good under him & finding value in the garbage bin (Aberg, Dotchin) & plucking potential top 6 forward for a depth 6th d-man in Pettersen.
