even though I agree with you that Bridwell's pheripherals and past performance indicate last year will never happen again, the fact of the matter is that Parker did have a good year for us last year. The idea that he wouldn't get a start or first crack once someone hit the DL is incredibly arrogant. The same mindset of Ohtani is a bust after 3 ST innings, after 3 games in the ML - "I knew he was going to do this all along!".

Last year is why he is getting a chance and why he's earned the right to prove he can spit in the face of his periphs.  You haven't seen me say he shouldn't have been called up -- but I genuinely believe he's the least talented pitcher on the 40 man.  Given I haven't made those connections the only one coming to those conclusions is you.

As far as comparing my statements on Bridwell to the Ohtani idiocy goes -- Nope...    We have a track record on Bridwell, the people writing off Ohtani based on ST numbers were clueless.

Just realized something, and never thought I'd say it: Saturday may become my 2nd least favorite day of the week for 6 months a year.  Monday still wins, but only because it's the start of the work week AND the other day we're essentially guaranteed to not see Ohtani.

he might be the least talented pitcher, I'm not even disagreeing really.

Richards/Skaggs/Shoemaker/Ohtani/Heaney/Tropeano - those are our quality starters

J Ramirez/Bridwell - depth pieces every team needs for a 162 game season

Those 6 guys should get 24 starts with JC/Parker getting 10 or so each. But Bridwell is our 7th or 8th SP when everyone is healthy. He got first crack b/c Heaney/Tropeano/Shoemaker are/were hurt and Parker deserves a couple of chances before the team treats him like a leper.

It's no mystery Cam is getting pounded.

he was avg 95/96 in 2015/2016.

Since the surgery, he was 93/94 last year, and maxing out at 94 this year when he used to be able to hit 98.  Avg velo is barely 93 this year.  2-3 mph difference from when he was dominant.

Saw a few 90-91 MPH fastballs too tonight from him. His FB was always pretty straight so any sort of loss is disastrous for him

Unfortunately, Parker's in the same boat with his stuff too.
