Angels acquire Akeel Morris for a PTBNL

Those minor league career stats look tasty! He had one bad appearance when with the Mets back in 2015, but looked great in a small sample size for the Braves last season. (7 1/3 IP, 9 K's, 1.23 ERA)

Minor League career numbers: 2.82 ERA, 43 Saves, 393 innings, 517 K's, 1.16 WHIP and an incredible .175 BAA. Damn!

Reading through Braves fans comments, they are dumbfounded why the Braves haven’t given this guy a shot. And why they kept Rex Brothers and DFAd Morris. So looks like Eppler got a good arm for nothing.

After giving up 12 HRs in just 113 minor league innings as mainly a starter through 2012, he's only allowed 11 HRs in 280 minor league relief innings.

The hits allowed are crazy low too, while not walking too many batters.

FB is 94-97 MPH, great change (as you can see). The one issue he's had is with giving up walks, but still not as bad as we've seen from our relievers in the past.

I'll take that combo in a reliever, as long as the heat has just enough movement.

The #Angels have acquired RHP Akeel Morris from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for cash considerations or a PTBNL. Morris has been optioned to @SaltLakeBees. To make room on the 40-man roster, RHP Troy Scribner has been designated for assignment.
