RIP Steven Bochco

Writer and producer, developed several groundbreaking TV series. Hill Street Blues, L.A. Law, NYPD Blue.

He died today at age 74. Bochco had suffered with leukemia, and had a stem cell transplant in 2014 that he credited with prolonging his life.

Hill Street Blues was probably the first drama I every got into.  Surprisingly, looking at his filography, I thought he created more.  But when you go from Hill Street Blues to LA Law to NYPD Blues.  With a little bit of Doogie Howser in the middle.  That's a pretty remarkable stretch of TV for a guy to create.  RIP.

He also did some writing for Columbo. He wrote the script for the first episode in 1971, "Murder by the Book", and it was directed by a young Steven Spielberg. I saw it last week on CozyTV network, which airs classic television from the 1950's to the 90's.

Heroes and Icons is another network that airs Hill Street Blues every weekday at 3 pm and Saturday nights at 9 and 10.

LA Law was one of those shows that got me into tv dramas.

I liked all of his shows, really, except dookie house or whatever that was.
