This isn't that crazy of a thought. Fangraphs is projecting Judge and Stanton to combine for about 10 WAR this next year. There is a good sized error bar on Judge's WAR numbers, but Stanton will probably put up about 6 (based on history). Trout is projected to hit around 9, but has gone above 10 in the past, and honestly...if he can do what he did for the beginning of last year, but over an entire year...he should be easily better than both combined, unless Judge repeats what he did last year.

That could happen ... but Judge/Stanton will more than double Trout on scoring stats. When push comes to shove it’s all about Runs & RBIS. 

I personally would like to see Trout batting third this season for that reason.

Stanton/Judge combined for 497 scoring stats last season (runs and RBIs)

Trout totaled 164 scoring stats last season ... although, he was sidelined for almost 2 months.   I think he can total 225 if healthy next season. 

I get the defense and running part of his game but not a huge factor imo. Stanton also has speed and plays descent defense. 

I’m not knocking the best player in the game.

On a serious note, remember those Mickey Mantle comps that we all got excited about but no one dared hoped would be true? Well, they are true. Trout is Mickey Mantle - but the non-alcoholic version. And Mantle, remember, was actually better than Willie Mays - at least until they reached their 30s and Mantle began to break down and Mays held steady and had a prolonged peak.

Oh yeah, Trout might even be better than both - at least so far.

Yeah, i remember reading those rumors and not giving it much thought (didnt think it would happen). But the comps are obviously for real.
