McCarthy ended up doing a pretty decent job with the Yankees. Eight pennants and seven WS titles with the team.

Only one round of playoffs back then, the World Series.

McCarthy's winning percentage in the regular season AND the Series are the highest of any manager. Scioscia is not even in the top 40.

It's neat how this thread moved on from Aaron Boone to include Joe McCarthy, Scioscia, and the shipbuilding industry.

Yankee front office will set the roster, lineup, and batting order. They will also make bullpen decisions with help from the pitching coach imo. 

Aaron will publicly get the credit for wins and losse and making friends with the players.
