I definitely appreciate the rare occasion in which I get to piss into ice. It's also cool when the urinal cake is breaking apart and you have a chance to knock a piece off.

Rose bowl parking lot still has the tile wall and trough urinal. Tried to get my wife to go in and look at it but she passed on the opportunity.

When snowboarding, and after having a couple beers, you find some trees off the beaten path to take a leak. Maybe you've waited a little too long because now you're ready to blow. You fumble with the zipper on your ski pants because of your gloves, so you take them off.  You wade through the multiple layers of thermal underwear to find the opening to whip it out. The 20 degree air and your frozen fingertips make it difficult to start peeing, plus you're a little worried about someone cruising by. Finally it firehoses out and its the best feeling in the world,  under the trees, melting the snow around you, writing your name.

when i was a kid i used to like the trough at the forum mostly because it was a novel idea. i didn't like the lack of privacy, though.
