I really, really want the angels to get him, because I like him and think hes a stud. If the dodgers get him, ill laugh at them and talk about how he cant stay healthy, and the contract is ridiculous.

ESPN's Buster Olney writes that "some rival execs view the Marlins' prospect asking price for Giancarlo Stanton as shockingly high."

The asking price is also being called "somewhat out of touch with reality" by those rival executives and "not discounted nearly enough" given that Stanton is owed $295 million on a mega-contract that can potentially run through 2028. Stanton holds an out clause for after the 2020 season, another factor that has interested teams balking at the idea of forking over multiple top prospects. It's very early in the offseason, so some of this could be posturing. The 28-year-old slugger seems likely to be traded somewhere this winter as the Marlins' new ownership group looks to cut payroll. The Cardinals, Giants, Red Sox, and Phillies have been linked to Stanton publicly but other clubs could certainly be involved.

Jetes has to make the world believe he's a super genius -- so yeah, my guess is the Marlins' starting asking price will be stupidly high.

So I'm guessing that Cron and Calhoun won't be enough to get Stanton?
