A lot of interesting pictures here and much information on the girlfriend and the relationship. She arrived in a wheelchair last night at LAX.

In one photo, there is a piece of paper written in red on a stand next to the shooter's body (suicide note?).

The story from the UK Daily Mail says 12 of the 23 guns found in his room were "fully automatic". I haven't seen that stated anywhere else.

The 12 had the bump fire stocks. 

In situstions like this, keep in mind the media is all competing with each other, and in many cases retweeting, so to speak, what someone else said without fact checking. 

Stories change over time when info is confirmed or unfounded, and people scream conspiracy. I wouldnt get too wrapped up in any one particular detail this early on.

Everyone is waiting on the motive, and maybe there will end up being one. But maybe the guy just snapped. I think the san ysidro(?)/mcdonalds guy was similar. The day prior had tried to get a mental health eval, bit prior to that seemed normal.

The most interesting conspiracy theory involves the girlfriend and her background in the Philippines.

But some of that stuff is on 4chan, and I don't really want to go there.

In any event, her life story is strange.

my buddy that sits next to me just rolled in. he gave us a recount of what happened and then as others trickled in re-told the story for them. so if anyone is curious about a first hand recount, this post will probably blow your mind.

so they are kind of middle front. he said everyone heard the gunfire break out, but initially himself and others thought it was end of the night fireworks....or something show related. he sounded like he was paralyzed looking around and saw the flash from the shooter up in the room (for all you conspiracy theorist, my buddy said he thought it was the 20th floor or so, but in the moment, ya know). his chick was telling him to get down and as he realized what's going on he jumped down, but was still confused. he said when it hit him is they are all laying down and the dude next to him got shot in the chest at the same time he got grazed in the leg. i wish he could tell it instead of writing it because it sounded like a war zone. he said bullets were just raining down and there were two sounds, those that hit the ground and those that hit bodies. everyone seemed to realize what was going on by the time the shooters first clip emptied and as they were down he told his chick there is a 50/50 chance of getting shot laying there or running and that they should run.......people laying down were still getting tagged like the dude next to him, so sitting prone is pretty pointless. 

so they take off running during the reload phase and gunfire kicks back up and they are just running and hopping over people while people are getting tagged in his view running through the crowd....picture a war movie when they run to safety and people around them are just dropping or bullets are whizzing by. he said luckily they didn't lay there or try to hide as dead people and people hit were being dragged to safety and it was brutal.

one thing to consider and makes sense when he talks is, while he saw the shooter in the room, no one there knows if he is the only one so people are simply running but not sure where to run to. at the same time the casinos were in the same boat and on lock down, so they can't exactly run into a safe place. they kind of duck into a parking structure and he says the sounds of gunfire were sounding distant as they ran away and he felt safer, but again unsure if there are other shooters and the majority of people fleeing think the gunman is on the ground. he runs into the intersection and flags a cab to take them out to his mothers house whom just moved out there.

it sounded like a shitload of running and a shitload of gunfire. he said the entrance and exit was really thin for people to escape. luckily he wasn't in his vip area because it was literally one flight of steps and as gunfire was raining down people are kind of single file moving to escape.

he seems to be cool mentally, like most of us dudes we compartmentalize and realize it can happen at any point in life. his chick is pretty fucked up mentally.

I hung out with my lady friend last night for a bit. She went back to work, but shes still in shock...i told her to take some time off, but she said she wants to work to keep her mind busy. 

She was filming the concert from the VIP. She gave the video to her friends BF, and he gave it to the media. She said its "the main one they keep playing", but i didnt want to ask her to show it to me.

Two people in their group got shot, didnt ask her any more details. 

A guy from OCSD got his wife out, went back to help out. He scooped up a lady and started carrying her out. She took a round to the head, went through into his stomach. Hes stable but still in the hospital.

Reading the stories of the victims is pretty heartbreaking (as it always is). 

Cant help but keep thinking about that dumb bitch that said no sympathy, because theyre probably republicans.

Terrible situation and I think for some people it's going to hit them really hard (if it hasn't already) when they're alone with their thoughts.  Read something yesterday that said some of the people who died did so blocks away after they ran out of the venue.  I imagine adrenaline helped get them that far and if they had to go I hope they didn't even realize they had been hit.

I'm not assuming you're including me as a "nutter" but I would like to know if he had any help or direction in this. I don't have a "theory" and I really do trust the authorities to tell the American people the entire story. I understand it will take time for the investigation to play out.

Unfortunately, the narrative that the guy just snapped doesn't give the media and the 4chan crowd much to work with, since mental health isn't edgy or a divisive political issue.

No, im not including you. Its totally natural to have questions in things like this. You, me, or anyone else.

Im talking about the youtube videos already out, with computer voices, making up names of witnesses who supposedly said x y and z...but when you google the witness names, you find nothing. All it takes is dumbasses to believe that, then spead it themselves, and viola.

Human beings always want an answer. Its like groundhogs day, when the nurse tells bill murray "sometimes people just die". 

Then we focus on window dressing. He had a million guns...he only needed one. Full auto or semi, 58 people killed or 5, the story is the same. And we may neber get an answer that satisfies.

In this case, it sounds like the guy didnt have many friends, kind of a loner. So not sure too many people will be able to say "it must have been this".

Sounds like he did a dry run a week or so ago for a different concert. So hed been planning this for awhile.

Nothing has been reported yet, but heres my "i have no knowledge, but ill bet" take. Lots of money, kind of an asshole (according to people he was a prick to his wife). Brother said hes very intelligent. In his 60s...i wonder if the "im smarter than everyone, i have more money than everyone" ego wanted revenge...because he was diagnosed with something. 

Again, no info to back that up. But maybe he recently found out he had cancer or something. Decided to kill himself, but the "im better than most people" ego made him want to be remembered?

He was using his girlfriends identification (player card?) for something. But it might be as simple as it'd be easier to explain the metric shit-ton of luggage he brought while smuggling the guns if the hotel thought more than one person was checked in.

His father was also a diagnosed psychopath and psychopathy is genetic, so this guy may have been one as well. Psychopaths have a natural tendency toward violence and get a thrill out of the sense of power that it creates. Narcissism definitely plays a role as well, these types of people think they're better than everyone else so they tend not be very sociable. Daniel Day Lewis's character in There Will Be Blood is a great illustration.

I don't think there's any doubt about that.  Only a sociopath would do what this guy did.
