several years ago there were some flash floods out in the desert past palm springs. channel 5 sent a reporter out to cover them. i'm guessing it was one of her first on-air assignments, especially after she said "i spoke with some of the local residents, and they said the flash floods just came out of nowhere. back to you in the studio."

when I was stationed in North Carolina, we had a couple of hurricanes that put the nearby town of havelock under about 4 feet of water for a week at a time.

that was really bad, but nothing compared to this.

I actually feel bad that I can't help out so I did donate to the Red Cross. I hate seeing fellow Americans going through complete devastation like this. It has to be such a helpless feeling
