Not underwater yet, but our bayou is filling quickly with a lot more rain ahead of us.

a lot of tornados in the vicinity today.

Are there potential evacuations for you if the rain keeps coming?  Do you guys have a plan and places to go?

Be safe!

Thanks Geoff.

Streets are undrivable here for miles.  It'll likely take a day or two to drain.

Doomsday worst case for us we'll get 1-5 ft of water downstairs.  We have enough dry food and water to live upstairs for several days.

Thankfully, our situation is nothing like the people on the news right now.  Storm looks to be weakening as well.

Scary.

If y'all are needing to vacate or if there's anything else we can help with, you're welcome here.

Check your PMs.

I have two cousins who live in Houston. One has said that she is OK, but that information is almost 24 hours old. Weather Nation said on their forecast this morning that some areas of Houston could face 50 inches of rain in the next three days. The storm has basically stalled and is just hanging over the area.

A photo that one of my college friends posted today of one of the taxiways at Houston Hobby Airport. In case you're wondering when flights might resume (it will be at least Wednesday).

I guess the first question that comes to mind is, how's the fishing?

avg. annual rainfall in los angeles is about 15 inches. The next three days in houston will produce three years worth of los angeles rainfall totals.

A high school friend who lives near Fort Worth said that they had gotten 28 inches of rain this year, and it has been one of the wettest years on record. Houston has had 25 inches in the last 24 hours. They may get another 50 inches in the next three days. That is mind boggling, and I come from a place where there is a lot of annual rainfall.
