One buddy's place in Rockport is a complete disaster. Another buddy in Galveston had his boat sunk in the marina. Lost power in Houston. I told him I hope he has plenty of water, beer, liquor charcoal and meat. This looks nasty.

Yeah, poor Rockport got destroyed.

Buffalo bayou is pushing into our community now.  Not the first time it's happened, but hoping there's a break in the rain.

spent the morning moving a bunch of stuff upstairs.

Are there potential evacuations for you if the rain keeps coming?  Do you guys have a plan and places to go?

Still can't believe over 5,000 people decided to stay in Rockport. It just seems absolutely crazy.

Streets are undrivable here for miles.  It'll likely take a day or two to drain.

Doomsday worst case for us we'll get 1-5 ft of water downstairs.  We have enough dry food and water to live upstairs for several days.

Thankfully, our situation is nothing like the people on the news right now.  Storm looks to be weakening as well.

There's been a lull in in the rain, so the water level has gone down considerably.

Keeping an eye on the bayou capacity, as well as the Barker reservoir levels, while enjoying some Texas craft brews  (Lone Pint and St. Arnolds).

Funny, I was wondering who the dude was who was flashing gang signs during the briefing.

I have two cousins who live in Houston. One has said that she is OK, but that information is almost 24 hours old. Weather Nation said on their forecast this morning that some areas of Houston could face 50 inches of rain in the next three days. The storm has basically stalled and is just hanging over the area.

avg. annual rainfall in los angeles is about 15 inches. The next three days in houston will produce three years worth of los angeles rainfall totals.

A high school friend who lives near Fort Worth said that they had gotten 28 inches of rain this year, and it has been one of the wettest years on record. Houston has had 25 inches in the last 24 hours. They may get another 50 inches in the next three days. That is mind boggling, and I come from a place where there is a lot of annual rainfall.

Tornadoes are fairly common in connection with hurricanes, especially on the trailing edge.

Harvey is expected to do a direct hit back on Houston Tuesday or Wednesday.  If it strengthens like it did before landfall the first time, Houston has a problem.
