Nobody has stated that Norris has been reinstated as the closer. In fact, nobody has been.  He closed today. Parker pitched the 9th yesterday. Middleton the day before. Bedrosian the game before that . Bailey the game before that.

That looks like a pattern.

Buck Showalter knows why the #Angels beat the Orioles: Andrelton Simmons.

“If they had a different shortstop today we would have (won),” Showalter said. “That’s why there’s nobody better than him. He’s special.

Selfish ass Pujols doesn't let Trout take an easy steal. Promptly bangs into a double play

You statements like this is just stupid.  They have a fraction on an second to decide to swing on a pitch  and you expect him to recognize every time Trout takes off for a steal and not swing?  Especially when he has two strikes!

Personally would have left Petit in for the 6 out save. Sure, that'd make him unavailable to pitch tomorrow's game most likely, but secure the win today and worry about tomorrow....tomorrow

You do know they tried that on Friday and it didn't work out that well

Moving the goalposts. His ERA since the break is 12.66. Twelve. Sixty. Six. And then he put two runners on and barely got out of the inning. And yet he's reinstated at closer all because he had a whopping one inning last time out where he didn't shit himself. Meanwhile Bedrosian hasn't given up an earned run this month, converted 3 saves last week without issue, and actually gets pulled from the closer role and put in a low-leverage early relief role. Not to mention Parker who's been excellent all season and hasn't been given a chance. Absurd.

He barely got out of the inning?  Two strike outs and a ground ball back to the pitcher.  After allowing two runners that's about as good as you're going to get.

So let me get this straight:

Scioscia sucks for pitching Norris in the 9th.

Scioscia sucks for pitching Middleton in the 9th

Bedrosian struggled after the all star break and Sciosia sucks for pitching him in the 9th.

Petit is is thrown out in the 9th for a 2 inning save on Friday and he gives up two runs when Middleton gave up the slam.

So who the he'll is Scioscia supposed to pitch?

I would argue Bailey but Fletcher says the front office wants to keep Bailey in low pressure situations because he was put of baseball for so long.

The bullpen is gassed.  It is struggling.  There are not many right options

He sucks. Yes he sucks.

But regardless of whether he sucks comparitively speaking to other major league players, he's better than you.  Unless of course you are a current or recently retired major league middle infielder.

This is what MT was talking too.

You never bothered to address my point, you just brought up a strawman and are now demanding I address it. And yes, he was "good." In the sense that as a 32-year-old failed starter who has a career 4.96 ERA as a reliever, he pitched well for a couple of months and then turned into a pumpkin. Great, we got a couple of good months out of him and then you move on. Hell, Jepsen had one good year for us and has a better career track record in relief than Norris, and everyone hates him.

We're not talking about Kimbrel/Jansen/Chapman/etc here, we're talking about a guy who only took over at closer because Bedrosian and Street were injured. Why this insistence on shoehorning him into the closer role, especially after one clean appearance. If he absolutely must be the closer, at least give him 3-4 weeks to regain his rhythm in middle relief before running him out there with a one run lead on the road in the middle of a wild card race.

So he was good, then he sucked.  But he can't be good again.

they only have so many arms to put out there each night

Literally every fan base thinks their manager sucks at managing the bullpen. It's not different with Angels fans. They believe he's been crap this year when I honestly think his BP management has played a big part in this team overachieving. Problem is fans will always point out the mistakes when the bullpen blows it but not give credit when they do their job.
