I shall forever remember the no hitter and near perfect game he threw.

Weave also had the dubious honor of throwing a no-hit loss in 2008:

Class Act, Gladiator, Clubhouse leader and all around a good dude to the fans. Thanks for putting your heart and soil into the halos!

Thank goodness you didn't use "putting your blood and soul" or the auto-correct would have f'd you over into Nazi territory.

No one will believe me, but i have some pretty good stories from that night. Pretty unreal.

Weave was a beast. Absolute legend as far as Angels go. I know people will point out whatever negatives, but he led the team without a ton of help for a long time. Took less money, named his kid after adenheart, brought an edge to a team that honestly, was maybe sometimes a little too lax.

Jeckyl and hyde, sometimes he was cool, sometimes a pain to be around. But i think everyone in baseball respected him. He was a gamer for sure.

Really hope the Angels do something for him. Geez, hes one of the last links to the good times. Howie and aybar, lackey, mathis and naps. Not much left.

Happy for him, but kind of a sad day for angel fans. He'll be missed.

I remember listening to that game at work with my partner, a dodger fan. God that pissed me off.

IP hit the nail on the head in saying you cant look back on the golden years without thinking of him. Not a 2002 guy, but obviously more impact and memories than some guys on that team.

Its been mentioned already he took less money. If anyone remembers, he did the same with his signing bonus when boras wanted him to hold out.

His rookie year was bad as hell. Didnt he tie some record for consecutive wins by a rook pitcher?

His 2009 playoff game punking the red Sox stands out, but there were so many. I got a mention and spot on sports center holding a "5 more years dream weaver" sign his first game after signing an extension.  One of our best ever.  Tough watching a lot of the fan base turning on him near the end.  He's one of the guys who earned a free pass from me.
