That question was relatively easy. Here's a harder one:

The man demonstrating his sliding technique here is one of eight players to achieve this singular milestone. The other seven are Pete Rose, Ty Cobb, Julio Franco, Hank Aaron, Derek Jeter, Ichiro Suzuki, and Stan Musial. He also holds a host of Pacific Coast League records.

Ryan's last game?

Ryan and Brett's last game. October 3, 1993. Exchanging lineup cards at home plate. Ryan didn't pitch in the game, but it was the last game he was on an active roster. His final pitching appearance was a few days earlier.

It was also the last game at the old Arlington Stadium.

I don't know what accomplishment he shares but he was something of a minor league legend who collect over 3500 hits!

Jigger Statz is one of eight players with more than 4,000 professional hits (combined major and minor leagues).

He played seven years in the majors, and 18 years with the Los Angeles Angels of the Pacific Coast League.

Major league hits totaled 737. Minor league hits... 3,356.

Ryan had suffered a serious arm injury in his last start a few days earlier, that coming several days after pitching 7+ sensational innings in his last Angel Stadium start in front of 58,000 fans.   No doubt, a lot of those 58,000 cursed Buzzie Bavasi during the game.

Ya know, it still pisses me off after all these years. lol

Bavasi let the most exciting pitcher in the league leave for no good reason. Anyone that is old enough to remember Ryan put a lot of extra fans in the seats on the days he pitched. The Big A was pretty empty when he wasn't pitching except for the years Tanana was healthy.

It ended way sooner than it had to.
