Mike Scioscia notes Jesse Chavez headed to the bullpen this weekend. Scibner starts Friday, Skaggs Saturday & Nolasco Sunday. #Angels

This probably deserves its own thread

Sooo...rotation is ramirez, bridwell, scibner, skaggs, nolasco, with heaney and meyer hopefully both on their way back soon. In a perfect world, heany and meyer replace scibner and nolasco, unless scibner really impresses, in which case ramirez should go.in reality, nolasco probably stays, and scribner and bridwell go down.

Scribner needs a good start.....with the other guys coming back, he needs a good showing to stay in the picture...

Cannot wait til Skaggs, Heaney, Shoemaker and Richards are all in the rotation.

Kick Nolasco and Chavez to the curb. Maybe the Angels go with a 6 man rotation after that with Meyer/Bridwell/Ramirez?

It would be nice if, at the very least, the Angels could take us into the offseason on a high note.

IDK if I trust Ramirez yet. I wouldn't be opposed to trying to get his era down a little (how many good starts in a row would it take to get his era below 4?) and selling him, or moving him to the pen as a long reliever/spot starter.

Repeat of yesterday would do it. Down to 4.03 now.

Ramirez has been awesome. In half of his games started, he's gone at least 6 IP while giving up 2 R or less. You can't ask for more from a guy who hadn't started a game since Obama's first term.

He's gotten hammered around in a couple starts and his peripherals have fluctuated a bit, but he's been very steady

+1

Earliest date to return to rotation for GRich = mid-September?

Seriously. The guy was flat out garbage as a reliever and it looked like he was going to be out of the league soon (before us). Then he gets converted to a starter and throws a low 4 ERA through 21 starts?

And averages 6 innings per start, seems like he has the body of a guy who could ultimately pitch 200+ innings in multiple seasons?

Exactly. It's not hard to imagine some of his struggles are just  the result of him learning how to maintain feel, endurance, and command over 5-7 innings as opposed to 1 inning.

He's been virtually TORP-like in 50+% (11) of his starts. Not just good, but ace-like. He's been a mid-rotation level in another three starts (just missing a quality start by a couple outs or a run) and then back-of-rotation level in 7 starts.
