Reality: the break won't suddenly turn shitty players into good ones.

they've been plagued by a struggling offense all season long. this is going to play out just like a few years ago when the angels were carried by their pitching into the 2nd half, while being dragged down by a bad offense.  the pitching couldn't bear the weight without any reinforcements and the angels collapsed. 

if they don't sell off at the deadline, the only thing that may keep the angels around .500 is if they get significant contributions by street, bedrosian, skaggs, and probably richards. barring any significant trades, of course, which is hard to imagine.
