Amazon Prime Day Deals

Looks like others are slashing prices in response.

Best pre-Amazon Prime Day deals include Google Chromecast discounts and more tech sales

Just in! Google Home discounts: A few online retailers just marked it down by $30, bringing the price down to $99 (you may remember last month when the Google Home got a $20 discount for a few days only.) Get it at B&H, Jet, Walmart, Best Buy or Verizon Wireless. Note that Jet offers a coupon (use code SAVE15 at check out) for 15 percent off your first three orders.

Just in! Google Chromecast discounts: Save $10 on the Google Chromecast and Chromecast Audio at B&H, Jet (use the aforementioned coupon), Walmart, and Best Buy, bringing the price to $25. The Chromecast was discounted by $5 last week.

Just in! Google Home and Chromecast Video bundle: For $99.99, get both products bundled exclusively at eBay via the Google Store — saving you about $64 (39 percent). This is a great deal if you’re in the market for both items since you’re essentially getting the discounted Google Home with a free Chromecast.

For those that don't have Prime.

Amazon also announced exclusive deals for Alexa Prime users. The online retailer is offering a $10 new customer credit for those who use Alexa to order select items on Prime Day. Amazon is also offering a $20 discount on the Prime membership if the person signs up using Alexa. Telling the virtual assistant: “Alexa, sign me up for Prime,” will allow users to sign up for the one-year membership for $79.

i have an amazon echo and enjoy using it. i listen to music or ocean sounds to relax or ask about the joke of the day. i haven't asked her to order anything for me yet, but that's a nice option that's available. the music thing and the relaxation sounds are really nice when i get home from work. you can also check your calendar for the day as long as it's the google calendar.

i've joined a group on Facebook that talks about all the different uses available and hope to learn a good deal more about this nifty little device.

Yeah, but Tank can use his sexy voice with his Echo.  If he tried that with his wife, she'd look at him like he was crazy and walk away quickly.

she absolutely would run.

alexa, on the other hand, can hold her own in a conversation . . . a deep, sultry, conversation . . .

amazon echo (alexa) users.

i sent a request for them to add you to the group, which i hope was okay to do. a quick look through Facebook shows that there are a few alexa user groups. i've joined two others.

did you sign up for the emails from amazon? they arrive every friday/saturday and have ideas for how to use alexa. the emails are useful.

I had already bought the Bose revolve, so I just grabbed a dot.....between the two it's the same thing, just better sound quality.

I haven't done much outside of google some stuff. I'll check out the emails.

thanks my man.

I picked up a Ring Pro video doorbell. Been meaning to grab one at $250, today it was $175 on amazon. Pretty sweet deal.

Now I get to page back in all my lost electrical engineering knowledge to try and wire it up since I don't have a normal doorbell.

I tied my Amazon Echo into Wemo switches. Now my fat ass can turn the lights on and off without having to walk across the room. Was real convenient at Christmas, I could turn off the Christmas lights without having to walk into the garage.

the whole "prime day" thing is kind of hilarious.

you can clearly see the top brass saying "ok we have this summer lull, what can we do to juice sales to mimic holiday season?"

just make up another holiday!

word now is it what the biggest single day in amazon's history. what a juggernaut.
