Well, no idea what information your basing your opinion on but I can tell you that the information at StatsInc has it as a hitters park in all but one season the last 12 years, same as the data at Statcorner dating back to 2007.   It's tended to play closer to neutral for lefties, but as whole all the data out there shows it's one of Low A's better hitters parks.   This recent baseball america article pretty much mirrors what the other sources say -- http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/new-way-think-ballpark-factors/#fVUxJ3AC65i8TYZw.97 it's 113 run index is the highest in the Midwest league.

Also worth noting that it lists Inland Empire as a Pitchers paradise.   So people can stop calling it a hitter's park too.

I've been to quite a few games at Inland and the early season it gets cold at night. As the weather warms up so do the winds. I was at one day game where the winds were so bad the left fielder was playing almost deep short, like an exaggerated shift. Not one hit went over his head.

If the winds drop then the hot summer months allow for some deep shots but the park is pretty spacious. Gap hitting can cause triples and doubles so defenses have to have guys that can track the ball well.

Jet Hawks stadium is another windy venue out in Lancaster/Palmdale. It can also get miserably hot and add to it high winds.

Adelanto looks like a dusty old riding ring, or should be. Another high desert oven without even a town nearby for pre or post-game gatherings. The worst of the High A stadiums I've been to.

So Herm is hitting like Sherm, but is 5 years younger.

Yes but Sherm does play more difficult defensive positions. But yes you are correct if Herm fills out a little more he has a regular OF future in him.

Those winds ... ooooh boy...      When the Cajon Pass is blowing, basically all of those parks see their tendencies get all borked...

What scares me about Sherman Johnson is that while he's mastered AA ball, his OPS in almost 600 AAA at bats over the past 2 seasons is in the .600s.   Why is it that he is mastering other levels in his 2nd year, but not AAA in his 2nd year?   Maxed out?   Can't handle high altitude baseball?

I guess that means he can't handle airplane flights either?

Some pretty good players in the MLB have sucked in AAA.

Maybe it's all a pressure type thing.  Pressing too much? Bad hitting coach? AAA pitchers throw more breaking balls?

I don't think he needs to fill out anymore at all. Have you seen him? He already looks like Trout.

Just the way his his swing is, he isn't going to hit any opposite field home runs. The strength is there but he's a line drive hitter. But when he turns on a ball, you'd think someone like Trout or Trumbo hit it. Lasers.

He's going to be a starting OF at some point. There are some contact issues to be aware of, but he more than makes up for it with his OBP, speed and defense.
