The Wings were not your typical 7 seed... A bit unlucky there to have to face them in the first round. That said, we had plenty of chances to win the series.

Sucks that we won't get to see the freeway series but if it came down to it, I'd rather lose now than be eliminated by the Kings. But damn, I'd risk that emotional torment for a chance to face them.

I have no words. Worst game I've been to all season long. They played like absolute shit out there. Defense was HORRIBLE, Hiller was soft, Perry, Selanne, Ryan, Getzlaf took the game off apparently. Teemu, I love you, but please retire. We should have destroyed this team. Howard pretty much put them on his shoulders and got it done. They played like they didn't want it. So flat and uninterested in anything. They should be ashamed of their play.

Detroit got what they wanted - a one game playoff. They can thank the ref's for giving them game 2 with that late bogus penalty and not calling any Wings penalties in game 6.

Detroit won tonight (and should have), but it should have been over in 5 with a Ducks victory.

Good riddance Detroit. Enjoy your time in the East, where you'll have to earn your victories a little more while playing other league loving homer teams.

Moral of the story that I learned from this series, take out the other teams best stay at home defenseman with a vicious hit to knock him out of the series. Win the next 3 of 4 to take the series.

Hopefully the Ducks get some dirty players since apparently that is how Bettman and Shanaban want the game to be played.

F-them

When the F does Training Camp start?

bruce has won playoff series before.

ducks didnt deserve to move on. they should have obliterated that team.

I agree with this, no reason the Ducks should have lost this series.  They were by far the better team for the Wings for most of this season, too bad they were not the better team these last 7 games.  I really wanted to see a Ducks Kings match up in the playoffs, especially with the Dodger Stadium game coming up next year.

The shorthanded goal was the killer in game 7.  If Getzy puts away the goal earlier in the power play when he was open in the slot its a completely different game as the Ducks were getting their legs under them at this point only to have the shorty take the life out of the Ducks and the Honda Center.  Only thing I can take away from being there is I may have seen the last game Teemu will every play, unfortunately he didn't look very good, oh well.

Bummer that we don't get to play you.

Why wasn't the Honda center filled with ducks fans? It sounded like an angels - Red Sox game in there.

It was 80/20 Ducks to Red Wings I'd say...Ducks didn't give the fans too much to cheer about.  Didn't stop me from yelling the whole game and having no voice this morning.

Also if it happens to be Kings vs. Red Wings in the WCF I'm sure it will be much of the same at Staples if the Kings play a flat game like the Ducks did last night.

The Ducks lost when they gave the Wings a taste of victory in game2... They should have crushed the wings.

The Kings will not make that mistake.  They were out-played for the series against the Blues, but still made the adjustments to come-back and win.

The Ducks need to look for the reasons they collapsed against the Wings, and make some changes for next season.

A few things that really bothered me last night.

1. Why in God's name were Palmieri and Etem not on the ice more? The two best players in this damn series and both of them only got 12 and 15 minutes on the ice. Yet, the worst player of the series (Perry) still got his 23 minutes.

2. Hiller. I think it was a mistake not at least entertaining the idea of putting Fasth in the net for a game. Hiller looked awful in game 6 and 7. Some really bad goals given up.

3. Perry/Ryan- Both of them were HORRIBLE. For 1 shift in the game last night I saw Perry show actual effort. Ryan just lollygagged it on the ice too. Not what we need from our "top line"

4. I would have liked to have seen Vatanen in the game over Sbisa or Allen. Idc if hes a rookie. We needed fresh legs out there and he couldn't possibly be any worse than that 3rd D line.

Also, from looking at the TOI sheet, Winnik got hosed of a lot of time too. He was one of the best players in the series (even though he didn't show up on the point sheet) He was giving it his all out there and definitely deserved more than 8 ****ing minutes on the ice.

Winnik was hurt on the cross check in the first period. I don't think he was very healthy the remainder of the game. Probably the reason for the light amount of ice time.

This team was 1-3 without Lydman. I firmly believe we win this series if he was able to come back for game 6 or 7. We couldn't recover from his loss. Red Wings played dirty by knocking him out of the series and they were rewarded with a series win. Fitting that bastard Abdelkader scored shorthanded after serving his 2 game suspension while Lydman still couldn't dress.

I hate losing to the Red Wings!!!

on tv last night it sounded like it about 50/50. red wings fans can be very annoying and very vocal. i think in the playoffs kings fans can out-yell them at staples.

hopefully we'll get a chance to kick their butts.

Sounded 50/50 cuz the Ducks sucked last night.  Was same amount of Wings fans as games 1 and 5 but the Ducks fans were much more engaged in those games.

1- Etem and Palmieri should have definitely gotten more ice time.  Hopefully they work hard this summer and they become part of a etem-bonino-palmieri 2nd line.

3- I think Bobby is traded this off season, his heart is clearly not in Anaheim.

4- Sbisa was ****ing awful in these playoffs, wouldn't have minded seeing Vatanen in for him at all.

Such a depressing 1st round loss...I was planning on having 2 rounds minimum of playoff hockey.  The Ducks were doing such a good job of keeping my mind of how shitty the Angels season is going.  Now the Angels need to get it in gear or its gonna be one looooooooong summer.

perry was a ghost all playoffs.

he looks lost since the suspension.

oh well. i love the ducks but they dont have the makings of a cup winner this year, unless they got super hot at the right time.

im just glad theyre back to being elite.

the PK and defense need major work this offseason.

I'll be really interested to see Vatanen next year. The guy scored twice in about 5 games with shots from the line (?). Could be luck, but I know Fowler scoring nothing from out there with 100-200 shots wasn't unlucky. Some people just have an eye for movement. Maybe we get lucky and get a replacement for Visnovski.

And, nothing would be finer if Etem was our Trout.

Guys like Etem, Vetanen, and Maroon are what gave the Ducks the opportunity to sign Perry and Getzlaf.  So much young talent.

I thought Lovejoy was the best defender in the series.  Bouchemin second, would be first if not for the turnover in game 7.  Missing Lydman really hurt.

Exit interviews happening now.  Beauchemin had a torn ACL the last month of the season, will have surgery soon.

Getz never fully recovered from ankle injury.

Bonino's injury was torn hammy that he got from playing soccer before a practice.

Murray was upset that the team didn't address the hits by Stoll or the hit by Abdelkader.

Beauch is a ****ing beast!  Amazing he could play on a Torn ACL.  As for Bonino, I think a lot of the team plays pick up soccer before games as a little warm up.  Murray also vowed team won't be back as is...I think this spells the end of Bobby Ryan in Anaheim.  Will be interesting to see what we can get for him.  If we do trade him it will be new jersey time for me...likely going with Etem if he gets his lower number by the start of next season.
