I really don't see how this aligns with reality in any way. We have a black hole at 2nd, a free agent left fielder who is doing well, and 0 starting pitching. We have a few solid every day pieces locked up long term, and a bunch of scrap heap pickups. Cron is young, cheap and capable of being an average-ish first basemen - something that is quite lacking in the organization right now.

IMO Marte, and Valbuena are much more exemplary of the current state of the franchise. Cron is not a big part of this team, but he is not the problem.

He has played very little 2nd base in the big leagues.  In his biggest sample size he played 35 games there in 2010 and made 6 errors, since then he hasn't played double digit games there.  So, no, I don't think he is an option for 2nd base.

The arguments about strikeouts ended a couple of years ago. Almost everybody is striking out at impressive levels. Nearly 40 percent of all plays involve strikeouts, walks or home runs.

The majority of MLB batting orders seem to be populated by an increasing number of all-or-nothing bats. The Mendoza line is now almost a sign of competence.

The Birds are losing to the Yanquis 14-3 bottom of 8. Buck puts DH Trumbo into the defense at THIRD?? ROTFL.

BTW, the Frankenstein monster wearing NYY 99 planted one halfway to Brooklyn earlier in the game.

BTW, the Judge and his Court have piled it on with 14 runs in two straight games. Hope Meyer can stop that scoring on Monday.
