Why not Howie

He would have been a much better pick up than Espinosa....but no reason to go there now....no expensive older guys....

There's a chance you can trade Espinoza to the Phillies since he's from the NL. You might have to include a prospect and the difference in salary.

Matt Klentak knows Angels

Howie would be a difference maker in our lineup. Plays first, second, and outfield.

Wish I shared your optimism that adding a veteran bat would help this team compete for a Wild Card spot....I like Howie but, as we've seen this week, other than the one horror show inning put on by the Braves Tuesday night, this offense is beyond terrible without Trout....worst I've seen since the 70's....Howie would help but not nearly enough to make this offense even decent....

You don't think we need that bat now

Those bats aren't being traded now, plus the price would be much higher.  If you need proof of this, list all the everyday major league players that have been traded this season so far?  I would rather not give up a higher price to get a rental.  I also wouldn't mortgage the future of guys that could have bright futures in a few years, in hopes of chasing down a wild card spot.  If we had a dominating starter or two on our staff I might change my mind.  But this team is a bunch of average to below average players, that play good defense, and Mike Trout.  There is absolutely no reason to do something that will make us worse as early as next season.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize the trade whistle hasn't sounded yet. Sounds like you can't yet until next season to start.
