I do think the media coverage of stories like these do serve as inspiration for those on the brink of violence. I would also guess that the killer has a traumatic past to be lashing out so severely at a young age.

12 to 1 says she was on anti-depressants.

No way I'd be an Uber driver without a weapon. A lot of sick a-holes walking around

that would be sick like in az where where dudes just have their shotguns vertically in windshield view. i think people think twice of fucking with you if they see that shit.

The poor man didn't have a chance. She suddenly attacked from the back seat with a machete and a knife. He suffered terrible wounds on his right side, which would be consistent with him trying to get out of there. His seat belt probably restrained him.

Having a gun wouldn't have helped.

According to witnesses at the Walmart, she was walking through the store holding the weapons and acting in an aggressive manner, with the machete held out in her hand and looking manic. She walked right out of there without paying. The security staff should all be fired.

Are you stating that the staff at Walmart could be considered incompetent? I am shocked.

They would be likely fired if they intervened. They aren't law enforcement. They likely aren't armed. Walmart would be loath to be liable for any costs involved. They are drilled about not taking law into their own hands. Walmart doesn't sell anything that is worth the risk. Their obligation would be to call actual law enforcement and warn shoppers to leave her the fuck alone.

Walmart really really doesn't want altercations occurring in their stores and are more than willing to swallow the loss.

Walmart confirmed the employee no longer works for the company - and the company spokesperson says it is regrettable that the situation was handled poorly.

They say associates are advised to disengage when an altercation becomes physical and let authorities handle it.

A Pennsylvania police officer is in the midst of suing a local Wal-Mart after reportedly being fired for carrying an officially-issued weapon while on-duty.

Michael Zuby worked at the Wal-Mart, when off-duty from the police force, as a security guard - so the news that he had been fired because he carried his weapon, while in official uniform and on-duty, came as a shock.

Meh, depends. If the minimum wage security dude isnt made aware of something like this until after shes gone, not a lot he can do. And usually, at least out here, they arent armed and we tell them to tread lightly when they detain people (have had a few stabbed trying to stop shoplifters, one shot my boot year).

This article says they have armed guards. Not sure if that was in place before this happened or not.
