The fuck is with all the injuries this season? The Mariners pitching staff is dead. I know the Angels staff has its problems. Now Trout.

A lot of other teams have shit on the DL too.

Yep. I posted a thread a week or two ago on this.

It's F'n ridiculous with all the injuries this year.

We'll win 5 of our next 6

i put on MLB network 50 minutes ago and the 3 bozos on air haven't said a single word about Trout.

That was likely because it was MLB Network's Monday night game. If they had talked about Trout being out, no one would have stuck around to watch it (not that anybody would have continued watching long once they heard about it).

We assumed he might be smart enough after 20 years of baseball to not slide in headfirst.  Our bad.

Especially after seeing Hamilton tear up his hand doing it.

I thought immediately after the play that it would come to this. Torn ligament all the way.

Does this mean we won't hear about Trout trades, extensions, or singning with the Phillies, Yankees, or anyone else for the next 5-8 weeks?

No, it just means the thread title will now start with "When Trout returns from the DL......."

With the new CBA teams no longer lose first draft pick if signing FA. Teams over the luxury tax threshold lose 2 and 5 draft pick and $1M in international bonus money. Teams under the threshold lose no draft pick. Teams losing a QO player to FA only get a supplemental pick if signs a contract of $50M or more.

Thanks, I forgot about that.

If anything this should be a wake up call.  Having so many eggs in one basket is a bad plan, and whoever signs him to a 400MM contract is taking a huge risk.  Look at the history of monster contracts.  Most don't end well  A team with as many needs, and as sad a farm, as us are in no position to take that kind of risk.

Four years.
