Not shocking at all.

It is impossible for something to look tackier.

The way they use a national holiday, to commemorate our war dead, to peddle their chinese-made crap, is embarrassing.

Cool story bro.  You keep seeing that side of it, I'll keep seeing the side where they draw attention to our "war dead".

Lt. Harry O'Neill, 4th Marine Division, Iwo Jima.

Harry had played in one game for the Philadelphia A's. July 23, 1939. Inserted as a defensive replacement at catcher for one inning, he never had an at-bat in the majors. He died at Iwo Jima on March 6, 1945.

Speaking of "War dead", I was astounded to read that between 60 and 80 million people worldwide died as a result of World War II.

About 47 million civilians (including those who died from famine and disease brought on by war), and the rest combatants.

The U.S. had over 8 million men and women serving during those years, with over 400,000 battle deaths.

We were the big winners of the war. Europe was decimated. For every American who was killed something like 60 soviets died. We had the bomb and we weren't afraid to use it.

The caps don't look all that bad, but they are terribly overpriced.

Then again, most everything baseball-related is expensive.

It's a money making venture for MLB unless the proceeds go to veterans causes.

42 on Robinson Day, pink on Mother's Day, unis on Memorial Day, caps on July 4, caps for the All Star Game, Labor Day, World Series patches, alternate uniforms.

We're lucky if we see one white home uni or one gray road uni per week.

Normal uniforms have turned into the only special occasion left.

I was wrong about the number of Americans who served during WWII. It was more like 16 million.

Yes, the Soviets lost an enormous number of soldiers.

When everything is special, nothing is special.

And also, the games this weekend  look like they are on black and white tv. Black and white tv sucks.
