If all of our key players were healthy from day one

  1. 1. Where would the Angels be in the standings if all of our guys were healthy from opening day till now...?

    • 1st place baby!
      1
    • 2nd place but with a winning record. Just a game to two games out of first place

The players currently on the DL were healthy from opening day until now, where would we be? I think we'd be in first place.

On the flip side, we wouldn't be giving JC Ramirez and Alex Meyer and extended look in the rotation. Though I'd take being in contention with a healthy roster over that.

Houston is 27-12. I think the Angels would be in a better spot if most of their guys stayed healthy(most teams are in the same boat) but the division looks out of reach this season. Wild Card contender for sure if they were healthy.

Yeah. Wish we would have taken two of those close ones in the last home series against them.

Let's look at the other side of the coin. Where would we be in the standings if Maybin, Espinosa, Calhoun, Revere, Valbuena, Cron, Pujols all hit say...   .275 to .280

I'm not asking for .300

Injuries are one thing but perfectly healthy players hitting like dog shit is the bigger issue. You can't win if you can't score.

There's no doubt about that too.

I guess if there were no injuries and these players played up to their career numbers Houston would be looking up at our ass in the standings.

I couldn't agree more. It's been frustrating because we know what our potential is. We're actually better than what we are showing on the field.

For the most part the players on offense have been on the field and outside of three of them they all pretty much suck ass. You can't ask for much better pitching but barely scoring 3 runs a game isn't changing the standings.
