Angels slugger Albert Pujols continued to climb up the RBI leaderboard during the Halos' game against the Tigers on Saturday night, collecting his 1,844th career RBI and tying Carl Yastrzemski for 11th on the all-time list, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

He's hitting well with RISP with an OPS over .800. But too bad he can't hit well when there's no one on base, which has dragged his BA, OBP, and SLG down so far in the season.

....  in Fenway...   He hit .239 and put up an OPS 200 points lower away from home.   The park index for Fenway in 1977 was 118 ... Coors Field was 117 last year.

Ok so let's compare their age 37 away stats.

Yaz age 37 (Away) (1977)

.239 / .322 / .453 / .775

------------------------------

Pujols age 37 (Away) (2017)

.178 / .218 / .329 / .547

No. The reality is that everyone outside of Trout has struggled and we've been riddled with key injuries.

Context is a son of a bitch.

Chuck you are arguing context with Claude, a concept he ignores or simply doesn't understand.

Good ol Claude. In a congratulatory thread, he manages to slip in nothing but criticism.

doesnt your same old tired song ever have a different verse?

He is RallyMunkee, but since he is a good dude that is very charitable, he is allowed to be like this.

I'm just not a milestone type of guy. If Albert gets his 600+ home runs and he passes a few guys in a couple of categories but we only win 75 - 80 games, it still ends up being just another poor season of Angels baseball.

We all agree that we would rather have Albert doing these things on a winning team.  It doesn't diminish what he has accomplished.

Yes that's true but most of the baseball world doesn't really care. He's not on the verge of breaking any records and he's just creeping along with these milestones. I don't think that ESPN or the MLB Network will have break in coverage for all his at bats after he reaches HR 599. He's struggling with a .275 obp half way through his contract and that's pretty sad.

You can say he's creeping along, but when it comes to these milestones he isn't.  The milestones they are tracking are home runs and RBI and quite frankly those are things he has done very well at since being here.  He has averaged 30 and a 100 since he has been here.
