Angel fans are split into two groups, those who blame dipoto for sosh's shortcomings, and those vice versa.

A good friend of mine is a scout for the Mariners. Wounds like dipoto did the same thing there he did here, ie, fire a bunch of scouts and development guys to bring in his own people with his own vision. Maybe he'll have more success there.

Fwiw my buddy survived the purge...and says the org people who are there feom pre jerry to now hate him, and say the same things ours did....that he thinks hes smarter than everyone else.

His drafting mainly high floor players leaves a lot to be desired.   No real potential for breaking out, the fist pumping upon drafting Taylor Ward says it all.

Heck, LB State's David Banuelos may end up being a better pro/MLB catcher, ultimately.    And he's projected to only go in the top 90/100 picks.

Well the talk at the time wasn't about making the playoffs, it was how many championships we would get. There was a thread about it right here. Arte investing in Pujols was to win and remember that the initial talk was to build a team around Pujols. Trout was an afterthought when Abreu had a bad start that season.

But you are mistaking the talk of the fans versus the talk of the team.  It was fans being fans and fan arrogance, not team arrogance.
